Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Williams.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
It’s been quite the journey for me. I would say I grew up an entrepreneur selling anything I could get my hands on since the age of 6. But this pursuit of entrepreneurship really got serious for me at 19 years old. I was playing college football, tore my ACL, lost my scholarship, dropped out of college and at the same time, my girlfriend of 5 years whom I had built my entire life around, decided she wanted to break up with me.
Lost, confused, and depressed I had no idea what my future looked like. One day I packed everything into my car with only $800 in my account and told my mom I would be back. That decision took me to cities all across America as I built relationships, sold almost everything you could think of and acquired the skills necessary to win in the business world. Fast forward 8 years later, here I am at 27 years old, an author, speaker, and I run the number 1 fastest growing Insurance Brokerage in the history of mankind.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Without a doubt, there has been a ton of adversity over the years. I think it all started with the decision to pack up and drive across the country where I had no friends, family, nowhere to live, no job, no anything, except $800 in my account and the will to win.
That journey started with the death of my 20 year old little brother. He was murdered on super bowl Sunday of 2018 and as you could imagine, that was a very difficult time in my life. Immediately following that, being that I was on the other side of the country with no friends, family or money, I ended up having to sleep in my car… Well at-least until It was repossessed while I was working in a local Starbucks one day. So now I had no money, no car, nowhere to sleep and no idea what to do. That day, I called my mother in tears and asked to borrow $1,000. It broke my heart and hers. She begged me to come home but I refused. She sent it and with that $1,000 investment from my mother, I built an empire!!
I just knew that at the end of the day, If i failed, I would only learn, and if I was already broke like everyone else, what did I really have to lose? I mean, what? Go back home and get a job like everyone else? If that’s the worst, then let’s do this!
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I do many things at this point in my life. I am an Author, Speaker, Real Estate Investor, amongst many other things, but I am most known for building an empire in the Financial Services industry.
I own the fastest growing Life Insurance Brokerage in the world. I think that speaks for itself in terms of why we are better than our competitors. You don’t get that title by mistake. This was very intentional and calculated. My brokerage invented the virtual sales “One Call Close” concept and the sales script that the entire Life Insurance Industry uses. We provide top tier training for our partners and equip them with the necessary skills to go out and crush it in this industry from their cell phone and laptop.
Opportunities are opportunities , I believe. Every vehicle can drive you somewhere. The question really is just where do you want to go? A plane will take you somewhere that a bike can not. We offer the highest commission rate in the entire industry to our reps, we have warm leads, a monthly bonus program that doesn’t exist anywhere else, and offer private equity partnerships. But even those things mean nothing. What matters is leadership and training. We show you how to ride the wheels off of this vehicle!! Myself and our leaders are not afraid to get our hands dirty and sit right next to you to show you the way to go. I always say we have an army of “Siris.”
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
My advice would be to move your feet. At 19 years old, I was so lost and had no idea what direction to run. But one thing I did that mattered the most is… I just started running. Sometimes you have no sense of direction and you’re not sure what’s next but that’s what it’s all about. The journey of the unknown. And what I’ve come to realize, your next move is never your final move and a lot of times it’s not your best move. You are going to make a-lot of mistakes and that’s ok. I ended up where I am today because I was in pursuit of so many different things. Every other month I had a new idea, a new opportunity, a new sales gig, etc. But doing all of those things, meeting so many different people, acquiring all of those skills allowed me to come into the Insurance space and build the fastest growing insurance brokerage ever, in 1 short year. Well at-least that’s what they say. You and I know, I really did it in 1 year plus the other 7 years. Remember Ive been on this journey since 19 and I am 27 now. They never see what happened behind the scenes. Keep your head up and most importantly, keep those feet moving!
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success to me, is peace. And I am only at peace when I pursue the desires of my heart. Unfortunately, those change quite often. So I guess, I would say success is learning to love the journey.
What’s next for you?
Moving forward, I really would love to spend more time with young people just like me who have a desire to go out and do something big with their life. I want to help those around me level up. At the same time, I would really love to break into the motivational speaking industry and really create a powerful name for myself.
All while on my mission to acquire 1,000 rental units in 2023!
