Exclusive Interview with Rising Star CruufromtheNorth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rising Star CruufromtheNorth.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Welp, my story begins as a kid. Growing up in a musically inclined family and looking up to big name musicians at the age of 6. I always knew that music was for me growing up. Ate the age of 9 I picked up music production and ever since then I have developed my skillset aiming to break into the industry. I was so into my passion for music it diminished my performance in school. I would die to get home and jump on FL Studio to make beats. This habit eventually led to me learning how to engineer music for friends and people who paid little money to work with me. The struggle in my life is what kept me hungry and what kept me willing to grow. After years of work and building a name as a producer and engineer I had gotten into my first cypher as a last minute thing and the cypher was posted on Youtube. This brought attention to my lyricism and from there I was encouraged to make my own music. After the passing of my cousin, I decided to fulfill my journey as an artist and create my own music. At the time I began working with Dtheflyest on “Dope Boy Diaries” which turned out a big deal getting millions of plays. Since then I developed my artistry your average rapper into an Afrobeats artist now working on globalizing myself and working with renown musical figures.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Primarily growing up I dealt with a lot of belittling from family and friends and people who thought because they or someone they know couldn’t break into the industry or even live off of music that I couldn’t either. Growing up where I did in Brockton, Ma didn’t make it much easier as the influence I had as a kid came from the streets. My life hasn’t been the sweetest. These experiences fueled my determination. Proving myself and others that I was worth more than what I was told was the biggest challenge even with my own parents but as I kept working and kept building a name I eventually was recognized as not your average local musician trying to make something of himself. I’ve had computer crashes, hard drives full of my work broken and erased. Throughout these things I had to stay focused and continue to strive even at my lowest points dealing with depression. There was literally no easy way to get to this point. I am grateful God has gotten me to this point.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I’m a producer/artist and engineer. Why should someone work with me? Because I love what I do and when someone loves what they do they’re connected to the work in a way that no one else is. This is what makes me great. This is what makes what I do so great. There is no competition in this game. We all have something to bring to the world and inspire them with.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Success is not what happens in the end but a series of things you do to get to the end. As long as you stay consistent and openminded you will learn the things about yourself and your destination that will take you closer and closer. Behind the “overnight success” in the long haul of blood, sweat and tears. Comfortability never earned anyone anything. Also believe in yourself and believe that God can take you farther than you could ever imagine. As long as you remember these things success will come to you just as fast as you run to it.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me is overcoming. Whether is the smallest hurdle or the biggest mountain, overcoming something is a success. Most of us chase the success that comes with fame and riches but we all have our own ending for success. It is important that you enjoy every step of the way so that you can see how much you accomplish chasing your own success.

What’s next for you?

Next for me is unleashing the new Cruu with new songs and a possible project later in 2022. In the meantime I’m working on getting my music to the globe and building these small foundations to keep climbing to the top.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?

You can catch me on Instagram @CruufromtheNorth and Facebook at @CruufromtheNorth as well as all major streaming platforms and Youtube at CruufromtheNorth.
