SohoMuse and Runway 7, the vertical fashion platform of New York Fashion Week, teamed up to present the spectacular Runway Muse fashion competition on February 10, 2022, at the iconic Sony Hall in New York. The event was broadcast live and featured a live audience made up of prominent fashion personalities, influencers, press and buyers.
The contest highlighted young fashion designers, who presented their creations in front of a panel of renowned judges in the industry. Esteemed judges included fashion designer Naeem Khan, writer and designer Mickey Boardman, author and life coach Elliot Carlyle, actress and model Debbie Dickinson, and writer and fashion designer Joseph DeAcetis. In this prestigious event, the Venezuelan designer Francys Lorena Herrera stood out as one of the participants.
Herrera shared her inspiration for the garments presented, expressing her desire to fuse the dynamism of cosmopolitan cities with natural elements such as water, air and minerals. Her designs reflected an athletic and leisure streetwear style, as well as a bold and avant-garde look for nightlife.
The first prize winner of the competition will receive an original collection of 20 pieces, while the first and second runners-up will receive collections of 15 and 10 pieces respectively. All selected designs will be produced by Runway 7, offering a unique opportunity for emerging designers to see their creations brought to life and marketed internationally.
