Karen Taylor Bass Shares Tips on Getting to Freedom & Peace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen Taylor Bass.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Thank you for the honor of chatting with you today. I am an award-winning media strategist, certified Corporate Group Wellness Trainer, and Yoga (RYT-200) leader. My story is about perseverance, reinvention, and not being afraid to put my wellness first for success.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The challenges I have had to overcome are being Black, a woman, and a mother, and feeling marginalized because I always had to work harder for my clients to sit at the table and get compensated fairly. I have created campaigns for Herbie Hancock, D’Angelo, Digable Planets, Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, and Coca-Cola, to name a few. And NBA stars Ray Allen and Chris Webber. Black publicists are not given the respect as their Caucasian counterparts even though they consistently deliver top-tier media placements. That formula is exhausting, and I decided it was necessary to prioritize wellness and become certified in Meditation and Yoga to manage mental health and stress for my community, clients, and myself.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I (now) have the privilege of working with small business owners, organizations, and corporations to empower them to think more innovative and wholistically, integrate strategic public relations coupled with Yoga and breathing to make health and wellness a priority, which allows creativity, passion, and purpose for employees. There will always be competition in life; however, my gifts are my gifts, which make me unique. I don’t worry about competition; I show up as Karen with communication, consistency, clarity, adaptability, transparency, and authenticity.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

The advice I would give to your readers is your self-care is your soul care. Feel free to communicate what you need to be the best version of yourself at work, at home, and in your relationships. Once you take care of yourself, success will come more accessible because you have clarity in what matters.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

I define success as having daily mental freedom, peace, and joy in life, even when facing challenges. When you achieve that, you realize perfection is overrated, and everyone struggles. Please do your best to feel your best.

What’s next for you?

The second half of my journey is bright; I am working on finishing up my future New York Times best-selling novel, continuing to work with small business owners, entrepreneurs, corporations, and community organizations to bring public relations/marketing and mental wellness to all with movement and breath.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?

I would love to connect with your audience. They can reach out to me at https://karentaylorbass.com.
