Owner of Optimum Exotics, Galo E Hernandez, speaks on Exotic Car Rental business

Today we’d like to introduce you to Galo Efrain Hernandez.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Growing up we certainly didn’t have things easy. It motivated me to do better so that I could succeed and put myself and my loved ones in a better position. I think my hunger came from individuals around me who were doing better than I, and it made me realize that I had to step my game up and improve my lifestyle. I wouldn’t say it was like competition, but I wanted to see how it would feel to have the nicer things in life. One thing I have always had a passion for was cars, and one day it clicked in my head that I wanted to start my journey pursuing an exotic car rental business. I’ve rented exotic cars from other people in the past and I had a BLAST driving them. I asked myself “how can I start my own business like this?” Not only is it profitable if done correctly, but I also want to make a difference in the community and give people the chance to experience a ride in their dream cars.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Well, one of the main challenges I faced was being short on money to invest in my business. It isn’t easy when you’re starting from rock bottom and banks aren’t trying to help you get a loan. I had to put in a lot of work to make things happen because as a lot of you know, getting high end and exotic vehicles does not come cheap. People tend to give up easily when things seem to get complicated. Others see it as a challenge they want to take up, and that was my way of looking at it. Things will get hard before they ever get easy, just don’t let it discourage you from pursuing your goals. As they say, your current location is not your final destination.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I specialize in making consumers feel at home and comfortable every time they leave that lot with one of our cars. We strive in making our clients feel like family (because that is what they are) and providing the best business so that they keep coming back to us. I think people would want to work with me because I am a positive, dedicated individual and I enjoy uplifting those around me to do better. I understand that teamwork is key, and I always make sure no one man is doing majority of the work. We all put in equal work because that is what a team is all about, not leaving it all to one individual.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

I’m sure you have all heard this before, but my biggest piece of advice in life to find success would be to take risks. Don’t be scared to do it alone, because you never know the opportunities you could be missing out on. You wouldn’t believe how many opportunities I have missed out on because I was scared to jump in the deep waters alone. You either risk it all to live the life you have always wanted to live, or you refrain from risks and live your entire life wondering what could have been.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Of course we all have similar perceptions to what success actually means, but in my eyes success is having the freedom to live life happily without feeling like your business is a job. To be able to wake up everyday and get paid for doing something you love and making clients happy is a success, and a blessing. Sure, I will admit wealth is a measurement of success as I’m sure 100% of people would agree. I also see success in an individual when they are able to make a positive difference to the community and to those around them. A lot of people think it is easy to become successful alone, but team work really does make the dream work.

What’s next for you?

My next step is to continue building the foundation to my business and make it an empire. The beauty of the exotic car rental business right now is that it is not oversaturated like many other types of businesses. There is still lots of room to grow and lots of potential to build a very successful company. I want to build a fleet so versatile that when people come from out of town or from in town to look for vehicles to rent, they look at our fleet and do not have to look any further.
