Systems Strategist, Tyra Pickett is Helping Women All Over the World Systemize Their Businesses!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyra Pickett.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

My name is Tyra Pickett and I’m Founder and CEO of Pickett Fence Virtual Services. I’m a Business Coach, Systems Strategist and Certified Online Business Manager and I help women entrepreneurs with online service-based businesses scale their business and take it to the next level.

I started my own virtual assistant business in 2015 and was able to replace my corporate full-time income, working only part-time in my business all while being a new military wife, blending a family, leaving my corporate job, moving to a new and unfamiliar state, I had just given birth to my 2nd child and was exclusively breastfeeding, all within 2 months! My plate was full but I was determined and nothing could stop me!

I later niched to working exclusively in Construction, and later learned that I am the first black woman “construction virtual assistant” in the US, a title I hold with pride. I became the go-to expert in the construction virtual assistants space. That’s when my coaching started to take form and I started coaching for free.

I transitioned into working as an online business manager and decided to become certified so that I could perfect my craft and charge more. However, I started to get a little burned out so I decided to completely pivot my business and work in a consultant and coaching capacity and I absolutely love it! I love teaching what I know, strategizing and helping other women entrepreneurs around the world systemize and grow their businesses.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The road wasn’t always easy, still isn’t. MANY tears, doubts, sleepless nights, wanting to burn my business down and of course, mistakes were made. Mindset and dealing with imposter syndrome has been and honestly still is a major challenge that I continue working on every day. No one, and I mean no one, has it ALL together, regardless of what you see on social media. We all deal with this on different levels, whether it’s talked about or not.

Another challenge for me is being an introvert. Having an online business is a dream since I’m not in a big social setting or out here networking; however, I’ve had to overcome my biggest fear of simply just “showing up” and being visible, which can be so scary. I’ve been very intentional with showing up boldly, loudly and with conviction because when it’s all said and done, I’m not new to this, I’m true to this. I’ve had to learn to walk into that power and own it.

Changing my brand and pivoting my business from providing online business management services to coaching and consulting was a challenge as well. I made a successful and solid name for myself within the construction businesses (a male-dominated industry), but to pivot and target women entrepreneurs and niche into business systems and processes, was another challenge. I remained laser focused on my goal and that’s when doors started to open and now I’ve been coined as the “Systems Queen” which I love!

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I specialize in building systems and processes that will allow your business to run smoothly and efficiently, creating automation and workflows to get you out of the day-to-day operations, setting up SOPs that will allow you to scale and grow and team growth. I help ambitious women entrepreneurs with online service-based businesses grow, level up and systemize their online business so that they can make more money, gain more freedom and flexibility and create the life of their dreams.

There are dozens of reasons my clients come to me over the competition but to name a few, over the past 6 years, I have helped many entrepreneurs all over the world streamline and build out systems and processes in their business, achieve massive results in revenue and business growth and gain back more time to do what they love. They receive a full VIP, private 1:1 coaching experience like no other, with private, unlimited access to me. They receive a personalized action plan, assignments and proven road map that I’ve used not only in my business but for my clients as well. They receive accountability support, check-ins and a partner who will walk them step-by-step through the process, help them actually implement the work and make sure they are completing the action steps that keeps them moving forward.

Plus, over the past 25 years, I have built 4 businesses and know what it takes to streamline, systemize and grow a profitable business. I absolutely LOVE what I do!

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Normalize investing in yourself and getting support. We are trained, especially as black women, to do everything ourselves and not accept help. We have that superwoman syndrome. And although we could probably do just about anything, we shouldn’t have to. And as an entrepreneur, this is especially true. There’s strength and empowerment in investing in support from those who have been where you are and can provide you with the roadmap and framework to help you get there faster.

Investing money in your business can attract more money coming into your business. Money is a form of energy and having a scarcity mindset simply does not work if you’re an entrepreneur. Whether you’re investing in hiring a business coach, products to help run your business more smoothly, or outsourcing tasks to an assistant, spending the money is worth it and helps your bottom line. But as with any investment, you have to do the work and put in the time, which is another form of investment.

I always say, strong people get support, weak people think they don’t need it and try to figure it all out on their own. Entrepreneurs are strong.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me means never giving up. I live by the motto, “a winner never quits and a quitter never wins”. Meaning that you never give up, no matter how hard or impossible things seem. Things that are worth it don’t typically come easy or everyone would do it. Remaining steadfast and continuing to push forward, even when all of the odds are stacked against you or it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen, is the true definition of success. Because eventually, you will succeed in whatever it is that you are fighting for as long as you never give up.

There are times when you feel like throwing in the towel and giving up, but you keep going, as long as it’s not a toxic situation. You have to have thick skin. You have to have a strong enough “why” to get you through those moments when you feel like giving up. Trust the process and know that God has made a clear path for your abundance. “Going through the motions” is just part of the journey. There will be highs and lows but never give up.

Giving up is never an option for me, especially when it’s something that will get me closer to my goals. So success to me means never giving up because it is in that moment of pushing forward that I get closer to my goals closer to God’s will for me.

What’s next for you?

I honestly feel like I’m just getting started and I’ve been so blessed already, but I know God has something even more extraordinary in store for me! Being able to help and teach so many incredible women entrepreneurs in their businesses through my coaching and consulting has been amazing and so incredible to witness the successful transformations and growth in their business. I’ll continue to invest and uplevel my signature coaching programs so that I can continue to provide the very best, high-level coaching possible and help even more women entrepreneurs.

I’m also extremely excited about my new signature Systemize Your Business 3-Day Bootcamp for women entrepreneurs where we spend 3 exclusive and transformational days planning, strategizing and systemizing their business and I teach the process needed to streamline and grow your online business through operations, systems and a solid team using my successfully proven step-by-step roadmap. I plan to host these a few times a year in order to reach and help more women entrepreneurs because having a systemized business is a must, especially in today’s world.

I’m also excited about revamping my podcast this year, creating more courses and trainings and I have a new membership vault that’s been in the works, and I’m so ecstatic about that! So stay tuned!
