Women Owned STEM Bella Transforms Communities of Color with Revolutionary M/VR Cosmetic Chemistry Lab

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Allen and Stacey Miller .

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Monique Allen and Stacey Miller and we are the creators and co-founders of STEM Bella. We came together and starting partnering on how we can change STEM curriculum for urban communities. STEM Bella is our brainchild and we plan is to disrupt the flow of STEM and workforce development for the 21st century

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Our greatest challenge is aligning with sponsors and programs. We aim to form strategic partnerships that will allow us to implement this technology nationwide.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Instead of the status quo, as innovators we have an eye on building up underserved communities with much-needed access to science, technology, engineering, and math skills. Since 2016 our team of professionals has sought to break through societal barriers to create a level playing field for marginalized people.
We view ourselves as pioneering women behind this innovative brand endeavor to use a mixture of science, beauty , and creativity to build a uniquely immersive experience. School children will learn the value of understanding the science behind the chemical compounds and color combinations it takes to make their favorite shade of lipstick.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Stay the course! We are all one “yes” away from achieving our dreams. We want to be viewed as the dynamic duo forging a new territory for the next generation. As trailblazers in the DEI tech field, Monique and Stacey are changing the landscape by creating a viable, diversified talent pipeline for the future. Through the proprietary STEM Bella approach, Black students, Indigenous People, and the LatinX community learn the importance of tech development and entrepreneurship. This niche approach is revolutionizing the traditional STEM experience by merging it with the beauty industry’s needs.

STEM education’s future rests in these enterprising women’s capable hands.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

We will consider ourselves successful if students adopt STEM Bella and explore learning nuances by incorporating aculturally sensitive curriculum that is in tune with the environment. The STEM Bella approach aims to unearth dormant urban genius that lies dormant without proper engagement. If we can change how students learn and engage, we will consider ourselves successful!

What’s next for you?

We plan to be strategic and align ourselves with partners who want to make an impact on communities of color. Our goal is to produce an amazing product road show for STEM Bella.
