Jonathan Witron didn’t grow up expecting much from life. Raised in Aurora, Colorado, the content creator known online as JJBOOMIN says few people ever pictured him standing among the names that define modern gaming. Today, after surviving homelessness, the death of his brother and the loss of his job, the Aurora gaming streamer is building a loyal community and a growing brand, and he’s confident 2026 is his year.
“I wasn’t destined for much,” Witron said. “Beating all the odds and trying to make a name for myself in the gaming community is everything I work towards. Everything I do and post is to push me to hopefully stand with the greats of gaming and say I am one of them.”
The Making of an Aurora Gaming Streamer
Witron’s journey began nearly four years ago, at a time when he was still climbing out of homelessness. Once he was back on his feet, he bought his first TV and a PlayStation 4 and rediscovered the games of his childhood. “I literally played every game from my childhood I could,” he said.
The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II changed everything. Witron met players who were already streaming, and he found himself drawn to the competitive side of the game, where showing off skill was the whole point. He bought his first camera, created an account and began posting almost daily. When a friend suggested he try Warzone, he took the advice, sharpened his game and watched his audience grow. With that growth came upgrades to his setup and the ability to stream on more platforms.
Witron says what pulled him in wasn’t the idea of being the best. It was watching creators build something of their own with the support of people who believed in them. “You don’t need to be the best or anything, as long as you enjoy what you do and you have your community,” he said. “It doesn’t get any better than that.”
Losing Everything and Finding His Way Back
In 2023, Witron’s momentum came to a sudden halt. His brother passed away, and soon after, he lost his job. Without income, upgrading his equipment became impossible, and simply getting by became the priority. He stepped away from posting entirely.
“It felt like I lost everything,” he said. He describes the six months that followed as a hard stretch in which he seriously considered hanging up the gloves for good.
He didn’t. In 2024, Witron returned to content creation and stayed consistent through the end of 2025, when his channel took off. Two of his videos crossed 200,000 views, a milestone he says turned a long-held dream into something real. “That’s when I knew continuing the journey wasn’t just a dream,” he said. “I have a community that enjoys my content, and I enjoy doing the videos for them.”
His philosophy is shaped by those setbacks. “You can only lose so many times until you find that right spot,” he said. “I was the biggest underdog ever, with no one believing in me, and I got over every obstacle put in front of me.”
Balancing a 9-to-5 With Big Ambitions
Part of what sets the Aurora gaming streamer apart is the discipline behind the camera. Witron still works a full-time, 40-hour-a-week job. When he gets home, he streams for two to four hours, then prepares three to four videos to release across the day or week. He batches his work so the rest of his week stays manageable, and he credits the gym and a healthy diet with keeping him clear-headed and ready to perform on stream.
His growth has also opened doors on the business side. Witron is partnered with Dubby Energy, where fans can use code JJBOOMIN3 for 10% off, and he works with EDST Marketing to expand his brand. He says those partnerships let him give back by connecting his community with gaming products he actually uses.
He’s also candid about how his approach to leadership has changed. “I was very selfish at first,” he admitted. Now, he puts his community, editors and clippers first. “If I don’t give them good videos or I’m not treating my editors or my clippers right, everything goes downhill. You’ve got to respect everyone because you never know.”
Looking ahead, Witron has his sights set on climbing the gaming rankings and landing collaborations with creators like iamwildcat and LeanMcQueen, along with appearances on IRL streams hosted by names such as Lacy and Adrien Broner. “I want to climb every ladder with every collab,” he said.
For aspiring creators, his advice is practical: stop worrying about what everyone else thinks, plan ahead and reach out to brands of every size. Starting small, he says, is often smarter than chasing the biggest deals too early, unless you’re already pulling serious traction. He also encourages showing up at events, meeting people in person and letting them see who you really are before they find you online.
Through it all, Witron credits his faith and his family. “I’ve been through lower than rock bottom and still overcame a lot,” he said. “God has a plan for us.” He sends love to both of his moms and his dad for pushing him to be better, and thanks photographer Steven Bryant (type1.civ) for the photos.
