Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Nicole Johnson.
It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Kimberly Nicole Johnson. I’m a strong Woman of God, Widow, Mom, Nana, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Ceo, and Published Author of 2 books, Entrepreneur,& Mentor, I’ve been an entrepreneur for over 25 years. I started with my late husband and then I was thrust into being a solo entrepreneur after his transition.
In 2004 I along with my late husband and partner Devan established Incredible Creations Beauty & Barber Salon. It was Cincinnati’s first black-owned and operated husband-and-wife team business in Over The Rhine. I took the role of salon owner to another level as a platform artist, educator, and mentor. Devan & I worked together each day as one. We were best friends. Neither myself nor Devan had any idea regarding what we were about to face.
I am an 8-year and counting breast cancer survivor. A widow for 6 1/2 years,
brain aneurysm survivor going on 2 years as of Jan 30, 2023
Simply put I am an OverComer with a very huge purpose!
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
In 2014, I fought and WON the fight against breast cancer, with my late husband by my side every step of the way. He never left me to do it alone and I never thought that I would lose him so suddenly just 2 years later in September of 2016 due to a motorcycle accident. I thought that I had just faced the toughest battle of my life as I had breast cancer and walking through the grief of being a widow. I decided that it was time for me to rise from the storm and walk authentically in my true purpose! God showed me how to “Unleash The Power of Greatness” within. I had one more hurdle to jump on January 30, 2021, I had something waiting for me. I was working out in my home when I felt something pop behind my eye. It was a ruptured brain aneurysm, I spent 21 days in ICU & 11 days in the Rehab hospital. God once again reached down and simply touched me yet again!
I have personally felt God’s hands through each traumatic experience. So now I have decided to teach others how to fully trust God & Unleash their Power Of Greatness so they can also help others become an Overcomer!
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I had to start over after I became a widow! So through my mindset life enrichment coaching sessions, speaking engagements, books & mentoring, I empower, motivate, teach, and inspire others to believe that a happy, fulfilling life is possible after facing heartache. I help women start over and or begin their lives.
I help women start & / or rebuild their business due to heartache, hardship or traumatic experiences. I walk you through each step required to help you unleash your power. Life can and will go on and it will be amazing despite what the past looks like. I strongly emphasize to my audience that “your past does not have to dictate your future”. I role model how to be authentic (being comfortable with who you are), walk in truth with no apologies, & live in the moment, we can’t control the future, when you fall dust yourself off, get back up and so you can OverCome.
I am the curator of the “OverComers Women’s Conference” where we transform women and equip them with what I call “power tools” which are all the tools needed to build or rebuild and or renovate their life, purpose, mindset, and business. The reason someone should choose me over my competition is that I have personally experienced everything that I now help others with and also because I am an entrepreneur and I’ve worked with over 100 women (and men) for over 25 years. I believe that gives me credibility.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
My faith in God is no secret! I know that because of my faith in God I am who I am. So my advice is to seek God for answers and ask Him what He wants you to do each day. Never give up, even when it’s hard. Do not look at others and compare your present situation with what you may think theirs is. You don’t know what they had to go through to be in that position. We all have our work to do in the world. Don’t give up! I tell my clients “you can’t heal what you hide” so my advice is ~ Don’t hide because your healing sits on the other side.
Trust the process because the promise is on the other side of that process.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success to me is having a supportive & loving, family & friends. Being in good health, having a sound mind, being financially stable, and my relationship with God being strong & great! Also knowing that my loved ones, family & friends are thriving, healthy, and prosperous in every area of their lives.
Success is also knowing that I get make an impact in many others’ lives as I help them begin, rebuild, also transforming their life!
I see that as a privilege as well as a gift because God is using all of the hard things that I’ve had to endure to now help those coming behind me.
What’s next for you?
The 2nd installment of my “Walking Series” comes out Jan 30, 2023 which is entitled “Walking Unscripted” we really don’t have our own script in life; we can try but it’s all up to God! This book is the follow up to my first book “Walking Without My Cane” I discovered that we all have a cane of some sort, mine was my late husband. I didn’t realize that until he transitioned and I had to walk without him. I am also currently gearing up for our 1st annual “OverComers Women’s Retreat” which happens March 23-26, 2023.
And also our 2nd Annual OverComers Women’s Conference” May 20, 2023
We are hosting only 12 Women for our retreat and we also have some space still available. The retreat will allow women to unpack, connect, restore, and be pampered while using their OverComers tool kit.
This retreat will also allow for bonding and creating sisterhood with other OverComers! You will have one on one time as well as group bonding.
